Such a sweetie

I can't believe Adam is such a big boy....makes a Mama tear up just thinking about it. Ok, I don't tear up much, but seriously, he really is just such a great kid. At 5 years old he is such a thoughtful kid. Always (ok, almost always) tries to do the right thing. Really cares about others. Always tells me how beautiful I am. The other day I was lounging around in pj's and he snuggled up to me and said quietly "Mama? You are so beautiful...even without your earrings on. You are even beautiful in pajamas" SERIOUSLY! How could you not fall in love with him all over again every day!?

Aussie Grandparents!

I can't believe I forgot to blog these way back when they were here. That was over Thanksgiving, oops! Adam and Grandpa spent lots of good quality puzzling time while they were here.
We also went to the zoo...had to see the kangaroos of course since we had the native tourguide with us for that exhibit.
The bird sanctuary was one of Adam's favorite spots.

Adam's 5th Birthday...part 2

Our 2 neighbor friends, Everett and Little Adam threw our Adam a birthday party one afternoon at Planet Pizza since they couldn't make the Chuck E Cheese party. Here's some footage of the event (thanks Julie!)

AAAACHOOOOO!

Adam has a friend who comes to see him when he's at Grandma's! A local cat seems to know when he's there..hears Adam's voice I guess and promptly plops himself in my mom's yard and awaits the petting that is sure to come. Adam will spend over an hour gently petting the cat...and poking it a bit with a stick too, he is a 5 yr old boy afterall. As long as he gets his cat fix over there, I'm fine with it...since he's sure never to own a cat until he's moved far away from me (allergic). :)

Arboretum

Back at the Arboretum with Grandma (she volunteers there so we get in free!)
Man, that's one handsome kid.
Adam loves the Pioneer exhibit
And of course the beautiful flowers...ok, he doesn't really care about those, but it makes for a nice picture for Mom!

Open House

Adam's open house at school was pretty darned cute. They had prepared some songs for us...
They made musical instruments during the week which were used in the production...
And then we went to their classroom and got to see what they'd been doing. The extra kiddo in this picture is Andrew, Adam's best friend at school. Strangely, Andrew's twin brother Brooks is NOT Adam's favorite person at school...lots of social learning going on this year! Favoring one twin for another has led to a lot of learning opportunity for Adam...learning to include others, learning the Golden Rule, etc!

Adam is 5 already??!!

Yes, I do realize it's been a ridiculously long time since I blogged...but thanks to some gentle prodding, I am back...hopefully i won't let it go this long in the future. anyway, here are some pics to catch you up on the life of the Tregonings...Adam's birthday (Feb 4th) was a hit...He chose Chuck E Cheese and I was horrified, but agreed...and it was great. We didn't have to do a thing except show up, so that works out wonderfully! Here are some pics from his first "friend party". Adam's best friend, Max, from last year at CLC was able to come, yay!

Max's cousin (and Adam's church friend) Zoe...is she having fun?

And of course Chuck E...couldn't do this without ya, dude.

Not bad for a homemade racecar cake, huh??! :)

Leah and Ethan Vaile

Adam's youngest cousin, Jordan doing the Whackamole!
