Camping!
We went camping over St Patrick's Day weekend at Daingerfield State Park in East Texas..it was really beautiful, and even though it was a bit cold, we had some wonderful family time together...and what is better to boys than being able to sleep in a tent, cook and eat by a campfire and dig in the dirt...all without having to take a real bath the whole weekend? Ugh. :)
Obviously we spent a lot of time snuggled up by the fire since it was SO cold in the morning and evening...and since boys are all pyros at heart, the campfire does end up being the central point of a campout, doesn't it? :)
By far the thing Adam was most excited about was sleeping in the tent! It's a huge tent, so Adam actually had his own "room" in the tent with a curtain separating him from us..he slept really well and was so excited when he woke up that he was still camping in the tent!
Daddy had a genius idea when we wanted to go for a hike and Adam was less than excited...we did a scavenger hunt! The dragonfly he has on his finger was not on the list, but what a bonus to find! Adam did the 2 mile trek with no complaining since he was racing Daddy to get all the things on the list...and would you believe Adam won??!! The prize? 3 pieces of chocolate when we got back to the campsite...
Of course no camping trip is complete without some fishing!
Adam had tons of fun digging in the dirt around the campsite...he even dug a hole so big he could sit in it!
Funny how we went all the way to Daingerfield and Adam's favorite part was playing on the playground...couldn't we have done that at home?! Still fun though. Even looks like Daddy enjoyed it!

These pictures are great!! My family went there when I was a kid. I stupidly took my bubble gum snowcone (don't ask me where I got it) in the lake and got lake water in it. ICK!
